Een virtuoze documentaire van Tom Cordell waarin de kijker meegenomen wordt langs het werk van de naoorlogse modernistische architecten in Londen, die het creëren van een stad van gelijke burgers als ideaal hadden. Wat waren de sociale en politieke agenda’s van die tijd en hoe zijn deze revolutionaire gebouwen van betekenis veranderd? Theorie vs praktijk?
Inleiding door Bernard Hulsman
Bernard Hulsman, architectuurcriticus en redacteur van NRC leidt de film in. Hij zal ingaan op het gedachtengoed van de naoorlogse architecten en trekt parallellen met de Nederlandse situatie.
